​ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

La Casita Spanish Immersion Center is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for children, families, staff, and visitors of all abilities. We strive to ensure that our programs, services, and facilities are accessible and that reasonable accommodations are provided when needed, in alignment with Minnesota Department of Human Services (MN DHS) childcare licensing requirements.

Facility Accessibility

• Our facility is arranged to support safe and accessible entry and movement to the extent reasonably possible.

• Classrooms, common areas, and restrooms are designed or adapted to support children and adults with varying physical needs.

• Accessibility considerations are implemented consistent with Minnesota Rules, Chapter 9503 (Child Care Centers) and applicable building and safety codes.

 

Program Accessibility

• Children are not excluded from participation based on disability.

• Reasonable accommodations may be made to support a child’s participation in daily routines, learning activities, and care, consistent with:

  • Minnesota Rules, Chapter 9503

  • Applicable provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, as appropriate

• We work collaboratively with families and, when appropriate, external service providers to support individual child needs while maintaining health and safety requirements.

 

Communication Accessibility

• Information may be provided in alternative formats upon request, when reasonably possible.

• Staff are available to support clear and respectful communication with families who may require accommodations.

• Families are encouraged to share accessibility needs during enrollment or at any time thereafter, in accordance with MN DHS family engagement expectations.

 

Requests for Accommodations

Families, staff, or visitors who require accommodations are encouraged to contact program leadership to discuss their needs. Requests are reviewed promptly and handled with respect, confidentiality, and care, consistent with MN DHS requirements related to nondiscrimination and equal access.

 

Staff Training & Awareness

• Staff receive guidance on inclusive practices, confidentiality, and child-specific accommodations as part of orientation and ongoing training.

• Accessibility considerations are incorporated into daily operations and program planning, in alignment with MN DHS training and supervision standards.

 

Limitations

While La Casita strives to meet accessibility needs, some accommodations may be limited by:

• The physical structure of the building

• MN DHS licensing regulations

• Health and safety considerations

In such cases, La Casita will work with families to explore reasonable alternatives.
